Training for Relational Caring Roles – Wes Bontreger

(Room 6)

In an effort to strengthen and grow in our caring ministries we are excited to offer a new training class for relational caring roles. The class will cover topics, skills and wisdom for walking with others as mentors and care-givers as well as for home and crisis care visitation. The class will cover areas such as listening skills, confidentiality, spiritual care, boundaries in relating to others, grief care, assessing needs and appropriate referral. All topics will be founded on biblical principles of caring and sharing the love of Jesus Christ, offering hope and helping others grow in their faith. While there are some different aspects between the roles of mentoring, visitation and one-to-one caregiving, many of the basic skills are the same. Each class will incorporate some input unique to each role. This is a new opportunity for those who have gifts of compassion and caring for walking with others and nurturing faith for all ages. The class will be taught by: Marge Detweiler, Phyllis Cripe, Mike Metzler and Rolene Gingerich, who are all trained for caring ministry.

Pursuing God – Gaye Smith

(Room 21)

This is my desire you to honor you, Lord, with all my heart I worship you. Lord I give you my heart I give you my soul. I live for you alone.

During this class time we will be seeking God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and drawing near to Him. We will do this with praise, prayer, bible reading, and sharing resources. The end result? Uncontainable JOY! How do I know this? Because this has been developing in me and I want to share it. Let’s encourage one another and build each other up.

Isaiah 55:12 – For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace. Ephesians 5:19-20 – Encourage each other with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord. Always give thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
